In this video, I’m sharing our campground review of Meinert County Park Campground in Muskegon, Michigan—right on the shores of Lake Michigan. This was a big family trip for us (brothers, sisters, everyone), and we booked this small, quiet campground that none of us really knew much about. We visited during 4th of July week in 2023 and stayed for 8 days, so we got a solid feel for what it’s like when things are busy. Meinert County Park sits on 182 acres of forested dunes and has scenic overlooks with some seriously beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline views. The campground has 67 modern full hookup sites (open and shaded) with 20/30 and limited 50 amp service, plus a dump station, flush toilets, and showers. Ice and firewood are available, and there’s on-site security. For $45/night (plus a vehicle entry fee), we felt like it was a clean, calm, family-friendly place with everything we needed—and the best part is it’s walking distance to the beach. If you’re looking for West Michigan camping near Lake Michigan, I’d absolutely recommend putting Meinert on your list.
