What’s up guys—on this stop we’re at Jim Hogg Campground in Georgetown, Texas, and I’m giving you a quick review of our lakefront setup at site #37. We stayed here for a week right on Georgetown Lake, and the biggest highlight is the view. Our site is fully paved and sits directly on the water, so we’ve been able to watch sunrise and sunset from our camp spot, which is honestly pretty awesome. I walk through what you actually get at the site: water and electric only (no sewer), a covered picnic table/pavilion area, a paved pad, a fire pit, and even a little barbecue grill. We brought our Blackstone along, but it’s nice having the grill option. A couple things to know before you book—there’s basically no shade at this site, which would be rough in the summer Texas heat, and we’re also pretty close to an airport, so you’ll hear planes and helicopters crossing the lake. It hasn’t bothered us much, but if you’re a light sleeper, keep that in mind. Overall, if you want a paved, lakefront COE-style site in Georgetown, we’d definitely recommend checking Jim Hogg out.
