In this video I’m giving you a campsite review and drive-through style look at Cedar Breaks Campground in Georgetown, Texas—specifically our Site 41. Last year when we visited Georgetown we stayed at Jim Hogg and our site had no trees and was right on the water. This time we decided to stay across the lake at Cedar Breaks, and even though we’re not directly on the water, we do face the lake and get those pretty sunrise and sunset views. I walk you through what Site 41 is really like: it’s extremely shaded (awesome for hot Texas summer months), it’s a larger site, and it feels pretty private with the fire pit tucked back in the trees. The big thing to know is the sites can be uphill and not super level—side to side we were definitely not level—so bring plenty of leveling blocks. I also show the bath house situation: they’re not heated (we learned that the hard way), and while they’re very basic, they do have flush toilets and showers that’ll get the job done if you need to shower somewhere besides your rig. Overall, Cedar Breaks is a COE campground showing its age, but for the price and the lake views, we’d come back.
