In this video I’m taking you along for our stay at Binder Park (Binder Lake) Campground in Jefferson City, Missouri—plus a quick drive-through feel of what city park camping looks like. We were there over Easter weekend and the campground was booked full, so my biggest tip is to reserve as far in advance as you can. Binder Park is only about 10 minutes from downtown Jeff City, but it still felt quiet and tucked away with lots of trees (which would be awesome shade in the summer). I walk through our setup on Site 11 and share the real pros and cons: full hookups (water, sewer, electric), level sites, and enough room for our truck and trailer—big win. The tradeoff is that amenities are more “basic” since it’s a city park, and the campground sits up a hill, so it’s pretty steep and not ideal for kids riding bikes. I also show the bathhouse and laundry (clean, simple, two washers and two dryers). And because RV life is RV life, our checkout morning went from coffee-and-YouTube chill to chaos when our toilet wouldn’t stop running and our brand new sewer elbow broke—so yeah, plans changed fast, but we still had an amazing Jeff City weekend.
