In this video I’m setting up a fresh bioactive terrarium for my Madagascar fish-scaled geckos, and I’m doing it inside the all-new Exo Terra Pro Terrarium. The whole goal here is the same as always with my builds: natural lives first. I walk through how I approach drainage, substrate, hardscape, and planting so these geckos can actually use the space the way they’re built to—climbing, hiding, and hunting in a setup that holds humidity properly and stays stable long-term. I also break down the Pro Terrarium itself—what’s new, what feels improved, and what I think matters for day-to-day husbandry and maintenance. I’m using the same kind of materials I lean on in a lot of my reptile room builds (silicone work, drainage layers, mesh separation, cork, and wood) because they’re reliable and they make bioactive easier to maintain.
