The exact generation BMW lost it's magic

The BMW Z4 E89 is a good car. In many ways, it’s a better car than the BMWs that came before it. And that’s exactly the problem. But for me, this feels like the exact point BMW changed direction. While the Z4 is comfortable, capable and genuinely easy to enjoy as a daily driver, it lacks some of the communication and involvement that made older BMWs feel special.
