What I didn’t expect was to hook into the largest striper I’ve landed all year. This is one of those tailwaters where you never really know what’s going to bite—and sometimes the river reminds you just how wild it still is. After landing the striper, I returned to the same general area with a different goal in mind: trout. I spent the rest of the day dialing in my approach and fishing a few unique lures from Creek Life Lure Company to see how they performed in real tailwater conditions.
