About This Video

In this Journal With Me, I’m breaking in my Point of View Diary Duo for the very first time, and I’m focusing on two of my favorite parts of illustrated journaling: choosing what to draw from my day, and then building up values to make the scene feel alive. I walk you through how I decide which little moments are “worth” a spot on the page—especially when the day feels like a blur—and how I turn that decision into a simple sketch that actually fits the space I’m working with. After the sketch is down, I shift into the cozy part: adding values and a bit of pattern to create depth without overcomplicating it. I talk through my thought process as I darken shadows, separate objects, and use value changes to guide the eye—so the spread reads clearly even if the drawing stays loose and journal-y. If you’ve ever felt stuck on what to draw, or you love the look of shaded illustrated spreads but don’t know where to start, this session is meant to feel like a gentle, practical roadmap you can try right alongside me.
