In this video I put two Flic smart button options head-to-head: the Flic 2 and the Flic Twist. I’ve been doing real-world testing because, yeah, Matter is the “future”… but it’s still in development, and that brings some limitations right now. So I wanted to see what actually feels good day-to-day when you’re trying to run a smart home without constant babysitting. My setup is heavy on automations, sensors, and Thread, so Apple compatibility is basically non-negotiable for me. I talk through the pros and cons of each button, what works smoothly, what gets annoying, and why only one of them ends up being the one I can genuinely recommend. It’s not the most affordable route, but for my use the Apple Home app is still simpler and more stable than bouncing between platforms. Bottom line: both devices have advantages, but only one wins if you want the best overall experience with fewer headaches.
