About This Video

This video is basically my 1-week Thailand trip compressed into 6 minutes of the stuff I actually want to remember—food, texture, heat, crowds, and those quiet little moments in between. As soon as we landed, I wanted to tick off a bucket list item: Michelin-rated street food. Thai cuisine hits those four core flavors—sour, sweet, salty, spicy—and for someone who’s mostly only known pho and curry as “Asian food,” I was genuinely excited to try things I’d never had before. The noodles were tender and chewy, the broth was aromatic and peppery, and that first night with Rosie was just us getting lost in Bangkok’s night markets and settling into the unfamiliar heat. From there, I leaned into the contrast: Bangkok’s nonstop energy versus the calm, ongoing faith inside the temples. We didn’t even realize the clothing rules at first, so we had to make do, but the temples (especially the reclining Buddha covered in gold leaf) instantly reset the scene and reminded us we were really in Thailand. We also explored the iconic malls and those food courts that run on cash cards—like arcade cards—where you can eat for around $4 AUD. After Bangkok, we headed south to Pattaya, took a Thai cooking class (tomyum, red coconut, white, green), met amazing people, and finished off with the PP Islands—where I kept my camera in my bag and just took it all in. Short trip, but honestly really refreshing.
