Japan has hands down been one of the best two weeks of my life, and this video is the finale of my IKIGAI series. After everything we’d done, we head back to Tokyo for the last stretch—Shinjuku nights, way too much time on claw machines (the ones in Japan always give you a bit of hope… before that hope is destroyed), and that weird feeling of knowing you’ve only got a few days left but your list is still massive. The main twist is meeting Keo Tsang through the internet—literally one day it’s a comment, and the next it’s “are you filming me bro” in real life. Keo drives Rosy and me out to Hakone super early (no way we’re getting there at 3am without a car), and even though I’ve been pretty burnt out creatively, being around someone who’s into the same stuff is genuinely motivating. We hit the touristy spots, see Mount Fuji, try the black eggs (yes, we made the joke), and I get reminded how insane Japan’s landscape is when it all lines up in one frame. And to top it off, the trip ends with us accidentally thinking our flight was a day earlier… so I’m filming the talking segments in a love hotel because otherwise we’d be homeless. Classic.
