Although the figures are not an exact representation of what I spend week to week, it's a rough average, where some weeks we spend more than others. Essentially, if you're trying to budget and get a general idea, if you have the total amount allocated for your living expenses, you should be okay in the long run. Please don't use this as an exact guideline for how much you need before moving out. ▻ CHAPTERS 00:00 - Intro 00:41 - Rent 01:29 - Groceries 01:53 - Shopping 02:26 - Services 03:43 - Eating Out 04:20 - Car 04:47 - Total Cost ▻ FOLLOW ME https://www.instagram.com/luda.lx/ ▻ MY GEAR Camera: https://amzn.to/3EyFD7I Wide Zoom Lens: https://amzn.to/3X9evmM B-Roll Zoom Lens: https://amzn.to/3TFt3b0 Shotgun Mic: https://amzn.to/3tAdTJo Tripod: https://amzn.to/3y5hGk4 Bag: https://amzn.to/3NcayuI ▻ BUSINESS ENQUIRIES ludabusinessenquiries@gmail.com

About This Video

A part of growing up is realizing how much effort it took for your parents to raise you… because everything and anything costs. In this video I break down a rough, week-by-week average of what it costs me to live in Sydney at 21, after being moved out for about six months. I’m about 30 minutes from the CBD in a two-bedroom apartment with my girlfriend, and I go through the big categories: rent, utilities, groceries, shopping, subscriptions/services, eating out, and car costs. Rent is the obvious monster—$800 a week, plus around $50 a week for electricity, gas, and internet. Groceries are next (about $169/week), and we try to meal prep and shop in bulk to keep it sane. Then there’s the “fun but also necessary” stuff—my purchasing power has definitely diminished since moving out, and I’ve become weirdly obsessed with furnishing the apartment, which averages around $117/week (things like toilet paper that don’t count as groceries). I also tally up monthly services like Amazon, Netflix, gym, Spotify, and Costco (around $57/week). I talk about how eating out feels convenient after cooking and cleaning for an hour just to finish a meal in five minutes—but with the cost of living right now, we keep it minimal (about $50/week). For the car, I’m lucky to drive my parents’ Toyota Camry, so it’s mostly maintenance (about $32.50/week). Overall: this isn’t an exact guideline, just a realistic baseline to help you budget without getting blindsided.
