Traveling to Japan for the first time, seeing Tokyo with my own eyes and experiencing what I had seen on social media. We visited the thriving Akihabara, Gotokuji temple, Shinjuku, Harajuku and tried the famous Ichiran Ramen. This was the beginning to the best trip of my life. This is Part 1 to a 4 part series called "IKIGAI", documenting my recent experience in Japan. About This Video

I’ve never really been a “traveling” person, but seeing Tokyo with my own eyes was genuinely unreal. This video is Part 1 of my IKIGAI series, and it’s basically my first time stepping into the chaotic beauty I’d only ever seen online—Akihabara, Asakusa, temples, neon streets, and those quiet corners where the architecture and the way people move just feels different. Landing late, grabbing dinner, and realizing anime isn’t just “a style” here—so much of it feels like it was pulled straight from real life—hit me instantly. It was also the first time I’ve ever felt like a foreigner. I can’t speak Japanese, I can’t read anything, and Tokyo’s train system is so efficient that it becomes complicated for an idiot like me—so my friend Alex basically had to carry the navigation. But that’s the point: I gave everything up for pure freedom, no schedule, just exploring. From Shinjuku nightlife (on a whole other level compared to Sydney) to Gotokuji’s maneki-neko cats, to Harajuku and sushi train, I’m learning to find comfort in the uncomfortable—even while carrying heavy, expensive gear and trying not to get robbed. It’s freeing in a way, and it’s only the beginning.
