I spend the morning browsing the farmer’s market for fresh, seasonal ingredients (hello basil, sweet potatoes, sourdough, and local honey), and then I pop into Free People because it’s right there… and you know I can’t resist a good staple piece when the quality is worth it. After that, we stop at the pumpkin patch for the fun stuff—funky pumpkins, cornstalks (my first year using them!), and deep purple mums that work perfectly with Halloween decor. Back home, I share the haul and then decorate my front entry by layering Halloween pieces with neutral fall decor so it’s easy to “de-spooky” later and keep everything cozy through Thanksgiving. I finish the day in the garden harvesting end-of-season tomatoes and basil, and then I make a big batch of sweet potato gnocchi to freeze—served with the most delicious brown butter sage sauce. It’s labor-intensive up front, but 10/10 worth the effort.
