my last local competition before regionals couldn’t have started any worse ❤️‍🩹🛼 2 days before, i fell during training and hurt my wrist. after an inconclusive x-ray and a ct scan, the good news was — no fracture. but i couldn’t put any weight on it, and the fear of falling on it again threw me off, both physically and mentally. then, on competition day morning, i left at sunrise for the long drive to victorville… and got my first-ever speeding ticket. i felt so stupid for speeding and getting a ticket, and i cried the entire way there. it just felt like the final straw. i didn’t feel ready. i felt overwhelmed. but all I could do is show up and trust that my training would be enough to get me through this. my first event was the open creative duet 13+ with my tomb raider-in-crime, crystal. the floor felt slippery, and there were a few stumbles — but we also had some really strong, in-synch moments. we skated through it together like survivors. we placed 4th out of 6. not perfect, but we didn’t give up. 🏅🫶🏻 then it was time for my open b creative solo as marie antoinette. i made a choice to leave everything - my stress, nerves, worries - on the floor and trust that my body knew what to do. i didn’t expect anything, i just wanted to skate and perform with my whole heart. and somehow… i got 1st place out of 13 🥇 this competition reminded me that strength doesn’t always look clean or effortless. sometimes it’s shaky confidence, messy emotions, and still choosing to move forward. regionals, I’m coming for you next 🏆💖 SHOP all the items + my skates 🛼✨ https://liketk.it/5fks9 🛼🎀🏆🥇🩷 #inlineskating #inlinefigureskating #figureskater #competitiveskater #heartbreak #rollerskater #artisticrollerskating #rollerfigureskating #inlineskater #skatergirl #adultskater #brunomars #rollerblading #mentalhealthmatters #rollerskating #rollergirls
