In this video I’m sharing some of my favorite big box plant finds from last year at Lowe’s and Home Depot—and honestly, it might need to become a series because there were so many good ones. I’m talking philodendron gems like Philodendron ‘Birkin’, Bronze Philodendron (those leaves are so beautiful), a Marmalade Philodendron that was labeled as something else, and the always-stunning variegated options like Ring of Fire plus the white variegated crew (White Knight, White Wizard, White Princess). I also loved seeing Painted Lady pop up—she is just the prettiest ever. I’m also highlighting the kinds of deals I want to see more of this year: huge angel wing begonias for $2.98 (yes please), big baskets of Hoya Chelsea with those heart-shaped leaves, and even a giant Crimson Princess basket for around $20—cue the Hoya dance. I found some really fun “uncommon but suddenly available” plants too, like the Platinum Jami Scindapsus pictus with those silver leaves, Philodendron brandtianum, Philodendron gloriosum, whale fin snake plants (my favorite type), and even a fiddle leaf fig for $70 at Home Depot that can’t be beat.
