About This Video

Hi friends, welcome to my channel Let’s Learn. In this video I show you how to do accurate timestamping for GoTranscript.com with a quick demo, and I also explain the exact timestamp format you should follow. I cover what a timestamp looks like (like [00:02:10]) and where you typically need to insert it—after a change of speaker, at fixed intervals like every 2 minutes, and when the audio is not clear or is completely inaudible. These are the most common real-world cases, and once you understand them, timestamping becomes much more systematic. To make the process quick and smooth (because yes, timestamping can be tedious with constant rewinding), I use an auto-transcribed file and show how tools like Otter can help you locate the right spots. For speaker changes, it’s very easy because the tool already marks changes—your job is to rewrite it in the correct GoTranscript format and place it properly. For every-2-minutes timestamping, I simply move the playhead to 2:00, 4:00, and so on, and insert the tag where the text matches. I also explain the difference between using [inaudible] vs [unintelligible], and one important rule: always consider the full audio timeline—if you’re working on a segment, your first timestamp might be 12 minutes, not 2 minutes.
