About This Video

In this video, I give you a quick but super practical lesson on pixel perfect alignment in PowerPoint—because if you can’t align objects cleanly, you’ll waste a lot of time and you’ll struggle with tasks on platforms like KnowMore (brush-up, visual enhancement, alignment tasks, etc.). I start with a simple example: I insert a rectangle, duplicate it using Ctrl + D, and place copies around the slide so you can clearly see what each alignment command actually does. Then I show you the real workflow upgrade: alignment tools are buried inside Home > Arrange > Align (that’s 4 clicks every time), so I recommend adding the align options to the Quick Access Toolbar. After that, I explain the two alignment modes—Align to Slide vs Align Selected Objects—and the “reference object” rule (leftmost/rightmost/top/bottom object stays fixed when you align left/right/top/bottom). I also cover Distribute Horizontally/Vertically and when you need 3 objects vs when the slide edges act as extremes. Finally, I share my favorite tricks: using Align Middle + Align Center to place a small object perfectly inside a bigger one (only after you bring it inside), and using Ctrl + Shift + drag to create perfectly aligned copies fast. If you’re preparing for KnowMore’s presentation test, these tricks will save you a lot of time.
