In this video, I show you a simple trick to transcribe your audio or video files for absolutely free—no subscriptions, no free trials, and no limits. The idea is to combine two tools: Descript on your computer and Google’s “Live Transcribe & Sound Notifications” app on Android. Live Transcribe gives you real-time, unlimited transcription, and then Descript helps you sync that text with your audio so you can clean up mistakes super fast. I start by creating a new project in Descript and adding an audio recording track. Then on my phone, I open Live Transcribe, go to settings, and make sure “save this transcription” is enabled. After recording/transcribing in a quiet environment (noise affects accuracy), I copy the transcript, send it to my PC (I use Evernote), and import it into Descript using the “Import Transcript” option. Once you hit sync, the transcript follows the audio word-by-word, and correcting errors becomes quick—press space to play, press E to fix a highlighted word, and add punctuation directly. Descript gives you full control over audio + text together, and that’s why this workflow is truly unlimited and practical.
