G’day everyone — this one’s a proper rollercoaster. I woke up at 3:00 a.m. to a dripping noise (worst timing too… school morning), and because my bedroom is literally my fish room, I knew something was up. Dad and I jumped straight into damage control: drain the tank, catch the fish (in a heavily planted jungle of vallisneria… not fun at 3 a.m.), and get everyone somewhere safe before it got worse. After that chaos, I rewind a bit and unbox about $350 worth of nano fish and shrimp. I’m talking pygmy corydoras (the cutest catfish, hands down), green neon tetras, dwarf rasboras, a couple fancy male guppies, a new plant I’d never grown before, and some Sakura red cherry shrimp. My red Colombian tetras are basically the closest thing to a piranha, so rehoming them is the move, and the nano fish choices (especially the dwarf rasboras) absolutely delivered.
