In this video I review the Hifiman Ananda Stealth V3, and why I think it’s one of the best sound-quality buys you can get around the $200–$210 range if you stack the AliExpress coupons. I also go through the Ananda lineup history (V1 to V2 “Stealth” to this V3 silent revision), and what actually changed on V3: the weight drop from 440g to 398g and the impedance change from 26 ohms to 16 ohms. I keep the unboxing simple (basic cable + 1/4" adapter, and the classic Hifiman foam stand), then talk build: huge cups, plastic outer shell with metal alloy grills, clip-on pads (which I personally don’t love), and the familiar Hifiman headband that can feel scratchy and rub paint on the rails. Sound-wise, I was honestly surprised—rather than ultra-bright and forward, I hear the Ananda Stealth as slightly warm and slightly laid back, with great micro detail, tight linear bass, and crisp-but-relaxed treble that doesn’t get harsh. Soundstage has good depth and height with “normal” width, and imaging is very accurate. I compare it to the HE-R10D (more bass, more V-shaped, wider but more exaggerated stage) and the T60RP (brighter, more clinical, can be fatiguing). My main takeaway: if your top priority is sound quality in an open-back around $200, this is a very solid all-rounder—just don’t expect top-tier comfort or premium build, and plan on using a decent amp to really make it shine.
