About This Video

In this video I’m unboxing the Fosi Audio SW10 subwoofer and giving you a straight overview of the little quirks and details before I run some quick in-room measurements. The SW10 shows up in a huge “box in a box” package (22 kg gross), with thick foam protection, a small accessory box for the power cord, and the user manual. The sub itself is about 14 kg, and honestly it’s one of the most non-subwoofer-looking subs I’ve seen—just a clean rectangular box with rounded corners and basically no branding. From the front it kind of looks like an air purifier, which might actually make it easier to live with in a normal living room setup. I walk through the hardware and control panel: a 10-inch polypropylene driver with thick surrounds, four bolted-on rubber feet, and dual rear ports (with a dampening mesh/fabric visible at the end). On the back you get a 200W Class D amp, crossover control (40–180 Hz), a variable phase knob (not just a switch), volume, RCA in with an LFE/line toggle, RCA outputs for pass-through/daisy chaining, a 2-mode EQ switch, and an auto-standby option after 15 minutes. For measurements I use a MiniDSP UMIK-1 at 90 degrees and compare EQ1 vs EQ2 in my room. EQ1 has a bit more output around 35–70 Hz, EQ2 is more linear overall, and room modes create a null around ~70 Hz and a peak around ~90 Hz. In my room I’m seeing meaningful, fairly linear bass roughly from 35 Hz to 95 Hz, with output starting to slope off around 100 Hz—pretty in line with the spec sheet. I’ll keep testing it and cover integration, placement, and tips in the full review.
