About This Video

React 19.2 is finally here, and honestly, it fixes some of the most annoying problems we’ve dealt with in React for years—especially the “why is my useEffect rerunning?” kind of bugs. In this video, I walk through the React 19.2 highlights that make apps feel faster, cleaner, and way easier to debug. I cover Activity (think Netflix-style instant navigation), useEffectEvent (so you stop fighting dependency hell), cacheSignal for React Server Components (so you don’t waste fetches on abandoned renders), and the new DevTools Performance Tracks (so performance debugging isn’t a guessing game anymore). I also talk about partial pre-rendering / “prerender resume,” which is super exciting because it lets you ship the static shell fast and fill dynamic parts later. And yes—Next.js has had a flavor of this for a while via Suspense boundaries and loading.tsx, but I’m genuinely happy React is shipping this capability directly. If you’re building production Next.js + RSC apps (not toy demos), these changes are very practical: less wasted work, fewer accidental reconnects, and much clearer perf visibility when things go sideways.
