Hey, welcome back to Kids Fun Science! Today, we're doing a fantastic **science experiment** that's perfect for **science for kids** to try as a **do it yourself** project right at home. This easy **experiment at home** demonstrates the power of **atmospheric pressure** using just a plate, matches, tissue, glasses, and water. Watch as we make a plate float in this simple yet amazing demonstration of physics! Floating Plate Experiment with help of Atmospheric Pressure. Made for teachers and parents Chapters 0:00 Intro 0:09 What you need 0:17 Set up 1:21 The Experiment 1:52 The Science Behind it 2:22 Testing how much can the floating plate hold? 2:58 Testing more weight When the matches burn inside the glass, the air inside the glass warms. As the air inside the glass gets warmer, it expands and pushes against the sides, creating lower air pressure inside the glass than outside the glass. To restore the balance, some of the high pressure air inside tries to move towards the lower pressure air outside. The matches warms the air, the air move faster & some air escapes. Which causes the air pressure inside to lower. The outside pressure is higher & pushes the plate up to the lower pressure glass. The wet tissue keeps the high pressure from getting into the glass. Hence allowing the Plate to FLOAT!
