Hey, welcome back to Kids Fun Science! Today, we're doing the classic **egg in a bottle** experiment, a fantastic **science experiment** that's perfect for **science for kids**. This **do it yourself science** project demonstrates the power of **air pressure** in a simple and engaging way. It's one of those **easy experiments** you can try right at home! Filming equipment Cell Phone Tripod 54 inch Travel Tripod with Bluetooth Remote - https://amzn.to/34REzbB Blue Yeti USB Microphone - https://amzn.to/3ePJwGu Green screen & lights - https://amzn.to/2XT9Yc1 Experiment 1 When the flames inside the bottle become extinguished due to lack of oxygen, the gas inside the bottle cools. This cooling causes the pressure of the remaining gas inside the bottle to become less than outside atmospheric pressure. At that point, atmospheric pressure pushes the egg inside the bottle. Other explanations on the web state, state the argument that the burning material removes the oxygen thus lowering the pressure inside the bottle. This ignores the fact that for each molecule of oxygen removed, a molecule of carbon dioxide or two molecules of carbon monoxide are formed. Experiment 2 Fill the bottle half way with water so the egg is covered with water. Take alka seltzer tablet put it into the water. Turn over very quick and do not let the tablet out. The egg should seal the water from coming out and the alka Seltzer tablet should bubble and start to create pressure inside the bottle. Once the pressure is higher then out side the bottle the egg will be pushed out of the bottle. My favorite and hardest to do. Experiment 3 Take a birthday candle and put it into the egg. Light it and put the bottle over the top just enough to seal with the egg. The flame should go out. Then the egg will be pushed up into the bottle, because the atmospheric pressure on the out side of the bottle pushes the egg inside. Pretty cool : ) Thanks and hope you enjoyed this experiment.
