I blew slowly and was able to make some good size bubbles. It took me a good 15 minutes before I was able to get it to work. For making a stream of bubbles, well that was a lot easier as I melted a couple candies with the heat gun on high. Once the candy was bubbling I put my tip of the straw in and blew very hard. You can turn off you heat gun after hot enough, but once the candy starts to get hard it will not blow bubbles and you will have to heat up the candy again. Tasting it was not what I thought, as it melted in my mouth like cotton candy, but then stuck to my teeth like a jolly rancher does. Over all it was a lot of fun. Science Behind this experiment: Now whats interesting that this kind of rock candy is actually considered a glass. Glass is any non crystalline transparent solid and because In Jolly Ranchers the corn syrup is used to prevent the sugar from crystallizing, thus making it a non-crystalline transparent solid (sugar glass).
