2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years in roller coaster history, so in this video I count down my Top 10 most anticipated new coasters opening around the world and rank them on innovation, layout, intensity, theming, and overall park impact. I hit everything from the world’s first S&S Axis coaster (Transformers: Prepare for Battle) to long-awaited returns like Montezooma’s Revenge: The Forbidden Fortress at Knott’s, plus park-changing new additions like Six Flags New England’s delayed-but-hype Quantum Accelerator. As the list climbs, the projects get absolutely ridiculous in the best way. Tormenta at Six Flags Over Texas is a skyline-dominating giga dive with a 309-foot height and a 95° drop—yes, I’m not usually a dive coaster guy, but that layout looks way better than people think. Then there’s Tuani Beast in Mexico, which looks aggressive, twisted, and packed with launches, inversions, airtime, and a first-of-its-kind element. And my #1 is Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Hollywood—a high-speed, heavily themed coaster with rotating cars to simulate drifting, built along the hillside between the upper and lower lots.
