Hey guys, Karl here. In this video I’m breaking down the Bright Tangerine D-Style Master Handle and why it genuinely changed how my FX6 rig feels in the real world. Bright Tangerine did send this to me for review (and I get to keep it), but the reason I’m excited about it is simple: it’s built for comfort and it’s built to not move. The rubber inlay is edgeless, the closed-loop design feels super secure in-hand, and you get a ton of 3/8 and 1/4-20 mounting points with locating pins so accessories don’t rotate or slowly loosen on you. I walk through how I mount it on my FX6 top plate setup (you just need two 3/8 points at least 14mm apart), and how I position it to keep my Sony monitor where I want it. The big selling point for me is the extension ecosystem—being able to add pieces (or buy the kit) to get the exact length I want from lens mount back to battery. When I’m mounting a monitor, friction arms, or even my Zoom F6 off to the side for interview work, the lack of flex is the whole game. I’ve used other NATO-style handles that are great, but once you start hanging multiple things off them, you can feel that slight flex—and I wanted to get away from that entirely.
