Coronavirus Quarantine: Video 14 I will be trying to post simple daily videos for inspiration for my students, and my subscribers to help give us some learning and distraction during this national emergency. Here is a link to the playlist I am adding to: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLj0pNzEmvM_qHHMTkWNXKzUd_0BADQL0a This video is a live FB video on the group CLAY BUDDIES. I had an opportunity to do an hour workshop, and I chose to do thrown and altered forms. Sorry for the vertical orientation, for some reason my phone was giving me fits, and I couldn’t figure out how to get it to do FB live and horizontal! Oh well! In this video, I show darting, cutting and sectioning, and realigning, throwing a bottomless cylinder which I ovaled, then threw a disk with spirals which I stretched to attach to the ovaled forms. And, lastly, I show my favorite technique I learned from a woodworker of creating a bowl, cutting it in half, and then attaching the two halves at the rims. So, I hope you enjoy! Check out this link to a live searchable Googledoc I continually update with lots of my favorite tools on Amazon using my associate links! (Mason is currently the largest high school in Ohio!) As a potter, I have been working in clay for over 30 years, and I have been teaching for over 28 years, the past 20 have been specifically teaching high school ceramics. I love what I do! I have my own studio in my home basement, where I work on my personal pottery for my Etsy site; https://www.etsy.com/shop/KaransPotsAndGlass I started my Youtube channel a few years ago, to make videos to help my students if they are absent and miss a demo, or if they would like to explore more advanced techniques independently. I have been amazed to reach such a wider audience than my own students! Please subscribe to my channel if you would like to receive channel updates, or would like to learn more about clay and studio processes!
