Coronavirus Quarantine: Video 41 I will be trying to post simple daily videos for inspiration for my students, and my subscribers to help give us some learning and distraction during this national emergency. Here is a link to the playlist I am adding to: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLj0pNzEmvM_qHHMTkWNXKzUd_0BADQL0a This video shows how you can make a mold from shells, and create shakers from your molds! I used cornstarch (which I believe in the UK might be called corn flour- typically used as a thickener in cooking) to keep the clay from sticking to the shells. I am using my Laguna bmix without grog to make these. I show how to drill the top holes, and cut stopper holes- and here is a pdf of how to cut the stopper holes: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_uEXpuAQhuzzaRW-dyaLxVLNuYbLE9qn/view?usp=sharing (you can find stoppers on my googledoc below!) but here is a link too for the stoppers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X6F7YPJ/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=karanspotsand-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B07X6F7YPJ&linkId=e7d685955d14add9404231f196263fc8 Check out this link to a live searchable Google Doc I continually update with lots of my favorite tools on Amazon using my associate links! (Mason is currently the largest high school in Ohio!) As a potter, I have been working in clay for over 30 years, and I have been teaching for over 28 years, the past 20 have been specifically teaching high school ceramics. I love what I do! I have my own studio in my home basement, where I work on my personal pottery for my Etsy site; https://www.etsy.com/shop/KaransPotsAndGlass I started my Youtube channel a few years ago, to make videos to help my students if they are absent and miss a demo, or if they would like to explore more advanced techniques independently. I have been amazed to reach such a wider audience than my own students! Please subscribe to my channel if you would like to receive channel updates, or would like to learn more about clay and studio processes!
