Coronavirus Quarantine: Video 12 I will be trying to post simple daily videos for inspiration for my students, and my subscribers to help give us some learning and distraction during this national emergency. Here is a link to the playlist I am adding to: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLj0pNzEmvM_qHHMTkWNXKzUd_0BADQL0a In this video, I am cutting holes in a leatherhard vase to create a luminary. The entire process was over an hour, and I have condensed that section into about 3 minutes. I use a cordless driver (Black and Decker- found in the google doc - you can search control or command f and the word drill or driver to find the link!) and an exacto to cut the holes. I then clean up the holes with a stiff brush, small drill bit, and water. The twinkle lights I use are also in the searchable google doc below. Here is a direct link to them as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076PZCTK6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=karanspotsand-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B076PZCTK6&linkId=e3886d9a08d17b5a9b215998ed63fe0e When done carving and cleaning, I have set it aside to dry a bit more under a heavy bath towel. Check out this link to a live searchable Googledoc I continually update with lots of my favorite tools on Amazon using my associate links! (Mason is currently the largest high school in Ohio!) As a potter, I have been working in clay for over 30 years, and I have been teaching for over 28 years, the past 20 have been specifically teaching high school ceramics. I love what I do! I have my own studio in my home basement, where I work on my personal pottery for my Etsy site; https://www.etsy.com/shop/KaransPotsAndGlass I started my Youtube channel a few years ago, to make videos to help my students if they are absent and miss a demo, or if they would like to explore more advanced techniques independently. I have been amazed to reach such a wider audience than my own students! Please subscribe to my channel if you would like to receive channel updates, or would like to learn more about clay and studio processes!
