Hue Blog dropped a little nugget that got my smart-home brain spinning: a new Philips Hue app refresh (Hue App 4.0) could be on the way, and it’d be the first major refresh in about five years. In this video I walk through what’s been reported so far, what it could mean for everyday Hue users, and why an app update matters just as much as new bulbs or light strips. If you live in the Hue ecosystem, you know the app is basically the steering wheel—so a refresh is a big deal. I also get into my wish list for what I want to see added or improved. Top of the list: better multi-bridge functionality (because a lot of us have outgrown a single bridge), plus more abilities for gradient lighting—especially for gradient strips.
