In this video I’m kicking off Hue Hacks Part 1 with five Philips Hue automations I actually use—stuff that makes your lights feel smart instead of just… expensive light bulbs. I walk through a few practical “why didn’t I do this sooner?” setups like temporarily disabling a Hue motion sensor (because sometimes you want to watch a movie without your hallway blasting on like it’s a runway), plus a couple of ways to make Hue behave better with your routines. I also show how I trigger the Hue Sync Box with voice commands and voice assistant routines, and I get into Siri Shortcuts so you can fire off scenes and actions without digging through apps. And yes, we’re doing NFC tags—tap your phone on a little chip and boom: lights, scenes, or whatever you want. It’s simple, it’s fast, and it feels like a magic trick the first time you use it.
