How to GET RID OF STAGHORN ALGAE

WERBEVIDEO ► In this Video I will show you how to get rid of STAGHORN ALGAE! Good news - Staghorn Algae is very easy to get rid of. Common Staghorn Algae cause: is either too little Co2, organic wastes in the Filter or too much Iron fertilizer. To get rig of Staghorn Algae do the following first: 1. Check your Iron levels and aim for 0.05 to 0.1 mg/l of iron (Fe). 2. Make sure you have enough Co2, 20-30mg/l are perfect for planted aquariums. 3. Clean Filter and get rid of unnecessary organic wastes. 4. Make sure your plants get proper amount of Nutrients, I usually don't measure my water parameters, but here is some general parameters you can aim for 10 to 25 mg/l of nitrate (NO3) 5 to 10 mg/l of potassium (K) 0.1 to 1 mg/l of phosphate (PO4) 10+ mg/l of magnesium (Mg) 0.05 to 0.1 mg/l of iron (Fe) 20-30mg/l Co2 If the above water parameters seem right and you have already removed unnecessary organic wastes as recommended above, you can try out some of the Liquid Carbo products that are based on Glutaraldehyde, such as Easy Life EASYCARBO and Seachem Flourish Excel. While I don't believe in this products as source of Carbon for your plants, they are great to get rid of algae in aquarium! Stick to the recommended dose of 1-2ml each 50l Aquarium water or overdose * at your own risk like I do in the video. I have to say as a *WARNING - overdosing the above products can cause plant melt and death of inverts! Start with recommended dose and increase on weekly basis. Observe your inhabitants and perform immediate water change if you notice suspect behaviour.
