After almost 2 years its time to say GOOD BYE to my beloved BIG 60cm Aquarium. Full Playlist about it: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjbie0v-Zdj-nCxhky1LEX8c9SuTtymlP It was initially scape by my Self and filmed by George Farmer. After having it sit for almost half a year in a dry state I have added the Ancient Juniper wood and finally planted it. It has ranked 126 in IAPLC 2019 - my best ever result in the International Aquatic Plants Layout Contest - commonly known as the Aquascaping World Championship, that was originally founded by Takashi Amano 20 years ago! This final Video is a 4k Cinematic Farewell Special. Unlike many other of my scapes, this one has went through several ups and downs and had received a major makeover 2 months ago because I have sold it to a fellow community member who came almost 1000km by car to pick it up in person. Writing this I'm getting a little sentimental, as I have produced almost 20% of this channels content based on this aquarium. It hurts to let go, but I'm very happy I haven't had to strip it down. Instead it can continue to grow and thrive in its new home. And with a little bit of luck, I will be able to show an update picture from time to time, thought its now 1000km far away. ps: there are 2 more videos I'm planing to release that will partially feature unpublished content from this aquarium, but they will be recorded in the future and focus on popular lightning options currently available. I guess you know what I'm talking about ;) pps: unfortunately there was no time to film how I prepared the scape to be transported. But in general - I have taken out all water fish, shrimp and snails and covered up plants with paper towels to keep them wet. Secured the big rocks with pieces of styrofoam against the glass and wrapped the entire aquarium with stretch film from outside and top to prevent scratches and keep moisture inside. Removed water from Filter for the transport, I highly recommend doing it any time you turn your filter of for longer than half hour. The longer the filter is turned off, with no water flow the oxygen levels drop down and beneficial filter bacteria can be damaged. With no water inside, but sealed humidity inside the canister filter, beneficial bacteria can survive up to several days! Be careful when loading the tank in to the car Place it on a soft but solid surface, ideally with the back wall (slope) towards driving direction. As this will help avoid substrate shifts in case of sudden speed reduction and of course no racing and slow pace when turning around. Secure well with Styrofoam blocks and blankets against the walls of your vehicle and keep fingers crossed.. This is basically all you need to know about transporting a fully scaped aquarium. ► Please let me know in the comments if you read this description, as it took a lot of time to write and I would love to know if its something worth doing in future videos.
