I walked away from a dream once. Twenty years ago, I had a small taste of what it meant to live in the wilderness — living off-grid, working hard, and depending on myself in the North Maine Woods. Life pulled me away, but the dream never disappeared. This is a full-length documentary about coming back. I built an off-grid cabin deep in the North Maine Woods and returned to the wilderness trapline — not to chase numbers, but to finally live the dream the right way. Off-grid living changes everything. There is no safety net, no backup plan, and no comfort to step back into. Every decision matters. Every success carries responsibility. This film documents real off-grid life, wilderness trapping, and what it means to live and work in remote woods through winter — measuring time by daylight, weather, and the work that has to be done.
