Back in the North Maine Woods, winter isn’t over yet. In this video, I head back to my off-grid cabin and get out on the snowmobile to start scouting for next year’s trapping season. With fresh snow on the ground, it’s the perfect time to read the woods—following predator tracks, learning their patterns, and figuring out where I’ll be setting next season. But this trip didn’t go exactly as planned… On the way in, my trailer came off the truck while I was heading down the logging road. Somehow, I got lucky and avoided what could have been a serious situation. And once I finally got into the woods, I ended up finding something I definitely wasn’t expecting… a set of freshly dropped moose antlers hidden in the snow. This is what late winter in Maine is all about—unpredictable days, fresh tracks, and the kind of finds that keep you coming back. • Off-grid cabin life • Snowmobiling deep in the Maine woods • Identifying predator tracks in the snow • Scouting for trapping season • Shed hunting moose antlers If you enjoy real wilderness, tracking, and life off the grid, you’re in the right place.
