On the last day of trapping season, everything comes down to one final push. In this episode, I’m out in the North Maine woods picking up traps in deep snow and bitter cold, not knowing what the day will bring. I’m trapping for fisher and pine marten, and somehow get lucky right out of the gate — catching one on the very first trap of the day. As the weather gets tougher and the miles add up, the season starts to feel like it’s coming down to the wire. Then, on the very last trap of the year, the trapline delivers one final surprise. Special trapping partner appearance by CJ who is downstate, trapping beaver. This is real end-of-season trapping — cold hands, deep snow, tough decisions, and one last look at the trapline before another winter comes to a close.
