Episode 43: You never really know what’s going to happen on the trapline. In this video, I head out alone into the North Maine Woods to set up a beaver flowage off-grid in the Maine wilderness. I put in a unique under-ice beaver set, stacking traps on top of each other beneath the ice to see how it would work in these conditions. On the ride home, the day takes an unexpected turn when we find a big, pale male fisher in my trapping partner’s mink set. This is just another reminder that life on the trapline is unpredictable, especially in the remote, off-grid wilderness of northern Maine. Thanks for watching and following along on the trapline.
