Come join me on a 24-hour call during my Obstetrics & Gynaecology posting as a 4th year NUS med student in Singapore. It honestly feels wild to be filming again — the last time I properly posted was back in Year 2, and now I’m already deep into clinical life. This vlog follows my day from getting dismissed in the morning (aka: back to studying), grabbing lunch, heading back to the wards, and then pushing through the overnight shift with whatever energy I can scrape together (coffee included). Most of my time in this posting has been in the labour ward, and it’s been a completely different kind of medicine. I’ve seen one natural delivery and two emergency C-sections, and the emotional range is just… a lot. Medicine is so often about illness and hard moments, but O&G also holds this really unique space where you’re witnessing the start of life — while still being close to the other side of things too. Somewhere in between trying to find a rooftop spot I saw in someone else’s vlog and realising there’s no 24-hour coffee place, I also found myself reflecting on how fast this 5-year journey moves. Seeing junior doctors who were literally our seniors not long ago really hits: we’re going to be doctors very, very soon — and yeah, as cliche as it sounds, it truly is a privilege.
