I Built My Dream Bike... Then Immediately Regretted It!

This is the story of how my Privateer 141 dream build went completely off the rails... and what I learned so YOU don’t make the same mistakes. From mismatched drivetrains to overbuilt components to a wireless derailleur that caused endless shifting problems… this one had it all. But here’s the twist! The Privateer 141 itself? Absolutely incredible. The frame, the geometry, the gravity-focused ride feel… Privateer nailed their part. My mistakes were in the build. And now? That entire dream bike is torn apart all over my garage. Today I’m stripping the build down piece-by-piece, selling some parts, keeping others, and getting ready for a brand-new chapter on the channel.
