So I wanted to finally fix up and get my Gramps on wood plane back into a working condition. I did this project over the course of a week spending about 90 minutes on it each night after work. This wood plane is a Stanley Acorn No.4 that was sold as Stanley's 2nd range of tools aimed at hobbyist's. After speaking with my Dad we guessed this would have been bought around 50 years ago as he remembers using it when he was younger, so that fact it has been used by 3 generations of the same family, I had to get it back into working order and use it on future projects.
