In this video I demo and review the Tech 21 Acoustic Fly Rig, and the whole point is simple: it’s a full acoustic rig that’ll actually fit in your gig bag. It runs off a single 9V adapter and gives you the stuff you actually need for real-world plugged-in acoustic tone—an all-analog SansAmp “amp” section (not a digital emulation), compressor, chorus/delay (with tap tempo on the delay), reverb with long/short settings, a tuner, DI options (XLR and 1/4"), plus a super practical boost. I spend most of the time on the SansAmp and EQ, because getting a good plugged-in acoustic tone can still feel like climbing Everest. The acoustic sounds gorgeous in the room, and recreating that through a speaker is hard unless you mic it—which usually isn’t practical live. My big takeaways are the same things I always come back to for acoustic: EQ, reverb, and compression, and this unit has all of that in one small box.
