@LPDPedals Check out the LPD Pedals JMP79 here! https://www.lpdpedals.com This NAILS the sound of Angus Young on many of the AC/DC studio albums. Back in Black? Check. Incredible attention to detail and usable range on all the controls. What do you think? Using a Gibson SG and a Fender Telecaster loaded with Gunstreet Pickups into a Rivera Venus Deux. About This Video

In this video I’m checking out the LPD Pedals JMP79, which is a seriously great “Marshall in a box” pedal—and yeah, it goes straight to that AC/DC thing in the best way. LPD sent this one over for a sponsored review, but I’ve played a lot of his stuff and he’s consistently got an amazing ear for getting amp-style feel and character into a pedal. According to his site he owns a ’79 JMP, and you can hear that attention to detail all over this circuit. To me, the JMP is one of the coolest Marshalls that gets overlooked—everybody talks Plexi, then jumps to JCM800, and they miss that middle ground. The JMP is that perfect in-between: more punch and a little more modern edge than a Plexi, without going full higher-gain JCM800 grind. I demo it with a Gibson SG loaded with Gunstreet ’60s humbuckers and then a Telecaster with Gunstreet ’50s-style single coils, all into my Rivera Venus Deux. I also walk through the control set—preamp, master, presence, 3-band EQ, and a 3-position bright switch—and talk about how the treble and presence shape the gain character just like old Marshalls. The big takeaway: the knobs have usable range, so you can actually tailor it to different guitars and amps without hitting “mud city” or icepick highs.
