Arriving Early at Tater TOT — And I’m Already Behind! 😅 | Kellogg, Idaho

After leaving Calgary and crossing into the U.S., I’ve officially arrived in Kellogg, Idaho — home of the legendary Tater TOT Recumbent Rally! I thought showing up early would give me a chance to chill, organize the van, and catch up on work… but nope! As soon as I rolled in, the parking lot was already alive with riders. Most of the early-arrivals were on motorized trikes or lightweight speed machines, and let’s just say: I realized very quickly that I’d be spending a lot of time at the back of the pack — especially with me stopping constantly to fly the drone. But the best part? Old friends are here. I caught up with Sylvie Halpern, who showed up with her famous adventure cat, Percy, riding shotgun as usual. Oh… and it just so happens to be my birthday — not a bad way to spend it: surrounded by the mountains, trikes everywhere, and great people gathering for one of the best recumbent events in North America.
