A review of the recent Kickstarter pen, the Endless Phantom from India. It's a great-looking design and a unique approach to cap-free fountain pens. In this review we'll look at the design, features, a writing test, and the results of my dry-out tests (and comparisons to other pens). TIMESTAMPS below. About This Video

In this video I’m taking a close look at the Endless Phantom, a new clickable (cap-free) fountain pen design coming out of India that recently showed up on Kickstarter. I walk through the design and features first—because this pen is really trying to solve the “retractable fountain pen” problem in its own way—and then I dig into the seal mechanism that’s supposed to keep the nib from drying out between uses. After that, I get into the practical stuff: specs, the nib unit, and the part everybody cares about with retractables—my dry-out test results. I also do size comparisons against other popular options, then a full writing test using Waterman Serenity Blue on a cheap Pen + Gear spiral from Walmart (because that’s the kind of paper a lot of people actually use). I wrap it up with nib comparisons to other pens in the category and my final thoughts on who I think the Phantom makes sense for—and who should probably skip it.
