In this video I’m taking a close look at the Benu Haute, a newer model crafted in Armenia that leans hard into Benu’s whole “loud resin, bold design” vibe—just with a twist. The Haute has a square-ish body profile that’s a little different from the more rounded Benu shapes a lot of us are used to, and I walk through the overall build, the look and feel in hand, and what you’re really getting for the money if you’re eyeing one of these unique resin options. Then I get into the part that actually matters: how it writes. I test the Schmidt Broad nib and talk about the writing performance, flow, and what kind of line you can expect if you’re thinking about using this as an everyday pen versus a “fun pen” that comes out when you want something flashy. As a bonus, I also give you a preview of Diamine Arctic Blast—an ink I’ll be featuring in a future ink test—so you can see a bit of how it behaves on the page while I’m putting the Haute through its paces.
