In this video I go through the latest flavor of dystopia: women falling in love with AI companions, marrying “AI Luigi,” and treating chatbots like boyfriends, husbands, therapists, and 24/7 emotional support animals. I break down the articles and examples that show how fast this parasocial nonsense is accelerating, and why the media keeps trying to frame it as totally normal when you know damn well they’d call it pathetic if it was men doing it. Then I connect the dots to the part that hits my audience right in the wallet: all this AI usage chews through compute, drives demand for hardware, and helps push up prices on RAM, GPUs, and SSDs. I also get into the darker side—kids using chatbots in dangerous ways, lawsuits around self-harm, and how model changes (like “colder” updates) send people into actual grief spirals because their pretend partner “changed.” Funny at first, then it turns into “the future’s so dark you’ll need an LED flashlight,” because once we get even more human-like bots, it’s going to get worse.
