In this video, I answered the big question I keep getting in my inbox: which AI detection tool is actually similar to Turnitin’s new AI detector. Turnitin updated their system on 27th August, 2025, and the main shock is that it’s now better at flagging AI “humanizers” too—not just raw ChatGPT text. So I didn’t want to guess. I tested it properly using one document that contains three different writing styles: (1) text generated directly from ChatGPT, (2) text humanized with Stealthwriter AI, and (3) text paraphrased using QuillBot standard mode. Then I ran the same document through Turnitin and other popular detectors to see which one behaves most like Turnitin right now. The goal is simple: if you’re trying to predict what Turnitin will flag, you need a detector that reacts similarly to AI, humanized AI, and paraphrased content—not just one that screams “AI” at everything. By the end, you’ll see which tool surprised me as the closest alternative to Turnitin’s newer detection behavior, and why testing with mixed-content documents is the only way to get realistic results.
