In this video, I put Pangram AI (a free AI + plagiarism checker that gets compared to Turnitin a lot) under a proper accuracy test. I run multiple writing types through it—straight ChatGPT text, QuillBot-style paraphrasing, and “AI-humanised” versions—then I look at how Pangram’s AI detection behaves compared to what people are seeing with Turnitin-style checks right now. The goal is simple: can Pangram work as a realistic second-opinion tool for teachers, students, and researchers when Turnitin flags something and you want more transparency? I also walk you through the Pangram dashboard so you can see what you actually get on the free plan, what the limits look like, and how pricing compares to the reality that most students can’t just “get Turnitin” on their own. My main takeaway is that Turnitin is catching more than it used to (especially with essays and even slides), and the old tricks—basic paraphrasing and a lot of humanisers—don’t reliably fix the problem anymore. If you’re trying to be fair in assessment (or protect yourself from false flags), Pangram is useful as a clearer, independent cross-check alongside Turnitin.
